O glorious Saint Anthony of Padua,
on this day when the Church celebrates your feast day,
we turn to you with trust and gratitude.
You who have devoted your life to proclaiming the Word of God,
to comforting the afflicted and helping the poorest,
obtain for us the grace to follow your example
in faith, humility and charity.
Saint Anthony,
faithful friend of Christ,
teach us to seek, above all, the treasures of heaven
and to place our trust in God in all circumstances of our lives.
When we are discouraged,
uphold our hope;
when we are facing trials,
strengthen our courage;
when we are in doubt,
illuminate our path.
On this feast day,
we entrust to you our families,
our loved ones,
those who are ill, isolated or in need,
as well as all those who seek peace and comfort.
Intercede for them before the Lord
so that they may receive the graces they need.
You who are known as the saint of difficult causes,
present to God the intentions we hold in our hearts today.
May His loving will be fulfilled in us
and may we know how to receive His gifts with gratitude.
Saint Anthony of Padua,
grant us a generous heart,
sensitive to the sufferings of our brothers and sisters,
and always ready to serve with joy.
May your example help us to grow daily in holiness,
so that one day we may share with you
eternal joy in the presence of God.
O Saint Anthony,
watch over us,
guide us to Jesus,
and accompany us on the path of peace.
