O holy Valentine,

You who dedicated your life to love and faith,

You who courageously blessed the union of those who loved each other despite opposition,

You who bore witness, even to martyrdom, to the greatness of true love,

We turn to you today with trust and fervour.

Intercede for us with the Lord,

He who is perfect Love, the source of all tenderness and fidelity,

That He may enlighten our hearts and bless our relationships.

You who have understood that true love comes from God,

Learn us to be faithful in joys as well as trials,

To support each other with gentleness and respect,

To grow together in a love that uplifts and purifies.

Saint Valentine, watch over loving couples,

Protect those preparing for marriage,

Fortify those going through difficulties,

And console those suffering from broken love or burdensome loneliness.

May your example inspire us to cherish love not as a possession,

But as a precious gift, offered freely and without reserve.

May we be artisans of peace and reconciliation,
