A day of suspense

After the intensity of Good Friday, Holy Saturday is a day of profound silence. Jesus is in the tomb. The disciples are scattered, distraught, lost. There are no festive celebrations or grand speeches. The Church remains in contemplation. Holy Saturday is the day of God's silence.

Between pain and hope

For Jesus' loved ones, everything seems to be over. The cross has shattered their hopes. The tomb seems to seal the story once and for all.

And yet, in this silence, something is brewing.

Holy Saturday represents those moments in our lives when we cannot yet see the light. These times of waiting, of incomprehension, of doubt. It teaches us that silence is not absence. A time of trust Holy Saturday is a school of patience. It invites us to trust even when nothing seems to be happening. God often works in secret. The Resurrection is being prepared in the darkness of the tomb. This day reminds us that Christian hope does not depend on what we see immediately. It reminds us that every night brings with it a dawn.

Before the Resurrection, there is silence. But this silence is never empty.

Prayer for Holy Saturday

Lord,

teach me to trust.

When all seems silent,

keep hope alive in me.

Lead me from the shadows to your light.
