Saint Raphael is one of the three archangels mentioned in the Bible, along with Michael and Gabriel. His name means "God heals". His main appearance is in the Book of Tobit, where he appears as a travelling companion for Tobit, the son of Tobit. Throughout the story, Raphael protects, advises and guides the young man, before revealing his true identity as one sent by God.
