Lord our God,
You who have made so many men and women saints shine through the centuries,
In this month of May, we come to praise you for the faithful souls
You have called to walk in the footsteps of Christ.
Saint Joseph the worker, protector of families and workers,
Give us the strength to sanctify our daily lives
By toil, gentleness and trust in Providence.
Saint Joan of Arc, courageous flame of faith and freedom,
Train us to remain faithful to our mission,
Even in the heart of doubt, even at the price of sacrifice.
Saint Philip and Saint James, apostles of the beginning,
Make zeal for the Gospel grow in us
And living charity in our relationships.
Saint Rita, advocate of hopeless causes,
Intercede for our secret wounds and buried prayers.
Help us to keep hope when all seems lost.
Saint Matthias, chosen to fill the place left empty,
Remind us that God calls each in his own time
And that it is never too late to respond to his voice.
Saint Dominic Savio, young heart purified by the love of Jesus,
Inspire our young people to the beauty of early holiness
And the joy of living in the light of the Lord.
Oh all the saints of the month of May, known or hidden,
May your example light our way,
May your prayers sustain our march,
And may your faith lead us to eternal Life.
Amen.
