Almighty and loving Lord,
In this blessed season of Lent, I turn to You,
With an open heart and a soul eager to meet You.
Give me the grace to make these forty days
A journey of conversion, purification and renewal.
Lord, teach me inner silence,
That in recollection I may hear Thy voice.
Help me to forsake the noises of the world
And to find in prayer a refuge of love and peace.
Teach me the humility of fasting,
May my renunciations not be in vain,
But may they become a testimony of love,
Uniting my weakness with Thy infinite strength.
Lord of mercy, open my eyes
To the suffering of my brothers and sisters.
Inspire me with generosity of heart,
That I may share with those who lack,
And that almsgiving may become an act of true charity.
Father, purify my heart and my thoughts,
Help me to acknowledge my failings,
To ask You for forgiveness sincerely
And to forgive those who have hurt me.
Make me an instrument of peace and reconciliation.
Lord, may this Lent be for me
A time of light and truth,
A path to Easter where, renewed by Your love,
I may joyfully celebrate the victory of Life.
I offer You my weaknesses and my efforts,
Certain that You are there, by my side,
Guiding my steps towards You,
Source of all grace and happiness.
