For nearly two centuries, the Miraculous Virgin has continued to enlighten the world with her maternal love. Appearing to Saint Catherine Labouré in the chapel on rue du Bac in Paris, Mary promised to grant abundant graces to those who would wear her medal with confidence. She invites each of us to turn to her in times of doubt, fear or suffering, to draw strength, consolation and hope.
O Virgin Mary, Mother of God and Mother of men, you whom we invoke under the name of the Miraculous Virgin, I come to you with a heart filled with love, but also with fragility and hope. You know my struggles, my fears, my wounds, and you look upon me with the tenderness of a mother who never abandons her child. Spread your mantle of light over me, protect me from evil and lead me to your Son Jesus, the source of all mercy.
Saint Virgin, you who promised graces to those who pray to you with trust, I open my whole soul to you. See my intentions, my deepest desires, my material and spiritual needs. I entrust to you all that I cannot express, all that I keep deep in my heart. Intercede for me with the Lord, that He may grant me the grace I need most at this moment.
O Mary, refuge of sinners, help me to go forward on the path of faith, even when the road is dark. Give me the strength to love when I am wounded, to forgive when I have been offended, and to keep peace in my heart despite the storms. May your medal, a sign of hope and love, remind me every day that I am never alone, for you walk beside me.
Miraculous Virgin, heal what is broken in me, purify my thoughts, strengthen my faith. Make me grow in absolute trust in Divine Providence. Teach me to say yes, as you do, to God's calls, even when they upset my plans. Make my life a testimony of love, humility and faith.
O Mary, most loving Mother, I consecrate myself to you today and for ever. Receive my prayer, listen to my tears, hear my silences. And when my strength fails, sustain me with your presence and lead me to your beloved Son. With you, may I one day behold God's eternal light and sing his praises for ever and ever.
Amen.
