Oh you, Saint Joseph,

silent guardian of the Redeemer,

faithful husband of the Virgin Mary,

adoptive father of the Son of God,

I turn to you with trust and love.

You, the righteous one among all,

chosen by God to watch over the Holy Family,

you who have lived in the shadows but in the light of God,

show me the way of fidelity and humility.

Teach me to listen in silence,

to welcome the Lord's wills even when they confuse me,

to act with faith, as you did,

without noise, without vanity, but with a peaceful and profound strength.

Saint Joseph, man of prayer and work,

you who earned your family's bread

in the sweat of your brow,

give me the dignity of those who live by the fruits of their labours,

and teach me patience in simple and repeated tasks.

Protect all the workers, the unemployed,

those who toil, those who hope,

and bring down upon them the blessing of Heaven.

You who have known the anguish of exile,

the fear for the child you were to protect,

the poverty of Bethlehem, the flight to Egypt,

be the refuge of those fleeing war,

of those wandering without homeland or roof,

of those who have no bearings in this uncertain world.

Console anxious fathers, divided families,

hearts seeking shelter.

Saint Joseph, tender and strong father,

you who held the hand of Jesus as a child,

you who watched him grow day by day,

help me grow too in faith,

in kindness, in trust.

Give me your kind eyes

to see Christ in those around me,

to welcome others with an open heart,

to love without counting, without judging, without expecting in return.

You who kept Mary in the purity of your love,

you who supported her in her doubts, in her pain,

be for me a model of true love, of deep respect,

of faithful tenderness in the bonds of the heart.

Watch over all families, over all couples,

over those who love each other and over those who seek love.

Obtain for us peace, gentleness, patience.

St. Joseph, patron saint of the universal Church,

you who watch over the Body of Christ,

protect our Church today,

keep it united, strong and faithful to the Gospel.

Inspire the priests, enlighten the bishops,

support the Pope in his mission.

May the Church, in your image, be humble, industrious,

close to the little ones, the poor, the forgotten.

And you, Saint Joseph, patron saint of the good death,

you who left this life between Jesus and Mary,

prepare me to live this passage with peace,

and to place my soul in the hands of the Father

with the faith that was yours.

Stay close to me to the end,

and when my last breath comes,

carry me to Jesus.

Saint Joseph, faithful protector,

I entrust myself to you.

Intercede for me with your Son,

and keep me always under your gaze of tenderness.
