From the top of your hill, you embrace the sea and the city, keeping under your mantle those who live in hope and trust. To pray to you is to entrust our souls to the maternal tenderness of Mary, a sure refuge in the storms of life.

Ô Notre-Dame de la Garde, sweet Mother of Heaven, you who have watched over your children for centuries, I lift up my trusting heart to you. Look upon my sorrows, my weaknesses and my hopes. As a child turns to its mother, I come to take refuge under your mantle of light.

Good Mother, keep me from harm, protect those I love, and watch over all who travel by sea, land or air. Extend your blessing on our families, our homes and our cities. Send down your peace into our hearts and your benevolent gaze upon our lives.

O Virgin of the Watch, you who are the comforter of the afflicted and the protector of sailors, save those in distress, enlighten those in doubt, and support those who toil under the weight of trials.
