Our Lady of La Salette appeared in 1846 to two young shepherds, Mélanie and Maximin, on a mountain in the French Alps. In her tears, she reminded the world of the need for conversion, prayer and fidelity to God. She is the compassionate Mother who weeps for her lost children and calls them to return to her Son with a sincere heart.
O Our Lady of La Salette, Mother of Christ and Mother of men, you who appeared in tears to warn and console your children, I come to place myself under your compassionate gaze. Your tears are a sign of your infinite love for us, and your message a call to conversion of heart. Help me to hear your voice, to understand your warnings and to walk faithfully on the path of salvation.
O Virgin of La Salette, you who wept over the faults of the world, over indifference and sin, intercede for me with your Son. Obtain for me the grace of true repentance, a pure heart and a living faith. Deliver me from attachment to the goods of this world, from evil habits and from everything that leads me away from the love of God.
Mourning Mother, look upon my struggles, my sufferings and my doubts. Let your tears fall on my wounds to heal them, on my fears to soothe them, on my faults to erase them. Help me to believe that, even in my falls, your gaze of tenderness lifts me up and leads me to your Son Jesus.
O Our Lady of La Salette, refuge of sinners and hope of the afflicted, spread the grace of reconciliation over the world. Inspire souls with the desire to pray, to confess, and to return to God. May your message of love and mercy touch the most hardened hearts and make peace blossom in families and nations.
O Mother so gentle, keep me ever faithful to your Son. Teach me to pray fervently, to serve humbly and to love unconditionally. May your intercession obtain for me the grace I entrust to you today (formulate your intention here).
