Saint Jude Thaddaeus, one of the twelve apostles, is often called "the saint of desperate causes". A close relative of Jesus, he witnessed his miracles, Passion and Resurrection. After Pentecost, he proclaimed the Gospel with zeal and courage, facing persecution and danger until his martyrdom. His intercession is particularly sought by those who find themselves in situations of suffering, injustice or human impasse. To invoke Saint Jude is to turn one's heart to a faithful apostle who encourages us to hope even when all seems lost.

Powerful prayer to Saint Jude Thaddaeus

O glorious Saint Jude Thaddaeus, apostle of the Lord and faithful servant of Christ, we come to you with confidence. You who walked beside Jesus, who heard his voice and saw his wonders, obtain for us a burning and persevering faith, capable of passing through the hardest trials.

Saint Jude, support of the afflicted and refuge of those who have no hope, hear our prayers in impossible situations. When all seems closed before us, when the horizon seems dark, come to our aid and open paths of light. Intercede with the Lord that we may receive strength, consolation and peace.

You who took the Gospel to the ends of the earth and endured persecution for your Master, kindle in us the courage to remain faithful in the faith. Grant us never to deny Jesus, but to proclaim him boldly and gently, even in a hostile world.

Saint Jude, protector of families, watch over our homes. Bring reconciliation where there is division, tenderness where there is harshness, and hope where despair threatens. Support the sick, strengthen the discouraged, console those who weep and keep alive the faith of those who doubt.

A courageous apostle, you who accepted martyrdom rather than deny your Lord, make our hearts firm and joyful in trial. Make us faithful witnesses, able to say with our lives that Christ's love is stronger than all suffering and that his forgiveness renews all things.

O Saint Jude Thaddaeus, you who are invoked by so many faithful throughout the world, present our supplications to the throne of God. Obtain for us the grace we entrust to you today (leave a time of silence for personal intention). And if this request is not in accordance with the Lord's will, grant us at least peace of soul and the strength to continue our journey in confidence.

Saint Jude, pray for us, keep our steps in the light of Christ and accompany us to the day when we will eternally sing the glory of God in heaven.
