Lord my God,
You who have given your Church so many faithful witnesses,
You who have made your light shine in their lives,
Open my heart to meeting a saint
Who will be able to accompany me on my journey.
Give me to recognize, through his or her life and example,
A guide who helps me to love, hope and believe more strongly.
May he or she become for me a friend in heaven,
A faithful intercessor in my joys as well as in my struggles.
I give you thanks for all the saints known and unknown,
And I entrust this search to you with confidence.
