Saint Rose of Lima, the first saint of the American continent, lived a life of exemplary humility and purity. She offered her life in prayer, penance and love for Christ, finding in the simplicity of her heart the joy of Heaven. To pray to her is to ask God for the grace of gentleness, perseverance and an ardent love that overcomes trials.

O holy Rose of Lima, flower of the New World and spiritual spouse of Christ, you who loved God above all things, I come to you with a heart full of trust. In the silence of your hidden life, you bore the pains of the world and offered your sufferings for the salvation of souls. Teach me to make my life an offering of love and peace.

Saint Rose, you who found in prayer the greatest of riches, help me to keep my soul in peace in times of trial. When pain or injustice overwhelms me, make me remember that Christ is my strength and that His love never fails.

O humble servant of the Lord, model of purity and charity, intercede for me with God. Obtain for me the grace to love without calculation, to serve without expectation and to pray without growing weary. May my faith be as ardent as yours, and may my heart remain united to Jesus in gentleness and truth.

Saint Rose of Lima, protector of the poor and the sick, look upon those who suffer and those who have lost hope. Spread over them your mantle of compassion and obtain for them healing of body and soul.

O saint of silence and light, I entrust to you my sorrows, my desires and this particular intention (formulate your intention here). Present it to the Lord with your humility and infinite love.
