St Thomas Aquinas, Doctor of the Church and master of wisdom, was a man of luminous intelligence and profound faith. Through his writings, he united reason and faith, showing that human truth and divine truth are never opposed. To pray to him is to ask for the light of the Spirit to understand, love and serve God with a humble heart and a clear mind.

O St Thomas Aquinas, you whom God has filled with profound wisdom and a spirit of light, I come to you with confidence. You who dedicated your life to the search for truth, enlighten my understanding and purify my heart, so that everything I think, say and do may be for the glory of God.

Angelic teacher, model of truth-seekers, teach me to study with love and humility. Help me not to be troubled by doubt, to keep confidence in reason enlightened by faith, and always to seek in all things the will of the Lord.

Saint Thomas, you who recognised that all knowledge is of value only if it leads to loving God more, grow in me the desire to unite knowledge and charity. May my work, my reading and my reflections be means to bring me closer to the Creator, not to flatter my pride.

O friend of God, who contemplated the mysteries of Christ in prayer, obtain for me the grace of a deeper interior life. Teach me to pray with the heart, to meditate on the Word of God, and to allow myself to be transformed by the truth of the Gospel.

Saint Thomas, protector of students and teachers, I entrust to you all who seek the truth: enlighten their minds, strengthen their faith, and keep them faithful to the light of Christ.

O holy theologian, who tasted God's sweetness with your last breath when you said, "All that I have written is straw compared to what I have seen," teach me the humility of one who recognizes the infinite greatness of the Creator.

Saint Thomas Aquinas, grant that I may serve God with intelligence, love Him with all my being, and one day contemplate, as you do, eternal truth face to face in the light of Heaven.
