St Paul, apostle to the nations, is one of the greatest witnesses to Christ. O Saint Paul, apostle inflamed by the love of Christ, you who heard his voice calling you on the road to Damascus, look upon us today and come to our aid. You who have known God's mercy in the forgiveness of your sins, obtain for us the grace of a sincere and profound conversion. Change our hearts of stone into hearts of flesh, ready to welcome the light of the Gospel.
A tireless apostle, you who travelled the seas and continents to proclaim the name of Jesus, make us missionaries in our daily lives. Inspire our words with truth, our actions with charity, and our choices with the courage to bear witness to the Gospel without shame. Make us peacemakers and bearers of hope in a world often marked by indifference and fear.
St Paul, doctor of the faith, you who wrote that nothing can separate us from God's love, strengthen our confidence when trials overwhelm us. When we are persecuted or misunderstood because of our faith, remind us that Christ's grace is sufficient and that his power unfolds in our weakness. Obtain for us the ability to walk in the certainty that God leads all things to the good of those who love him.
Saint Paul, prisoner of Christ, you who sang of joy in the midst of chains, teach us to transform our sufferings into offerings of love. May our wounds and our fatigue become opportunities to unite our lives to the sacrifice of Jesus. Give us to love Christ to the point of saying with you, "It is no longer I who live, it is Christ who lives in me."
Saint Paul, martyr of the faith, you who shed your blood in Rome for your Lord, make us courageous to the end. Let nothing distract us from our fidelity to Jesus. Help us to keep faith in storms, hope in darkness and charity in all circumstances.
O glorious apostle, present our prayers before the throne of God. Protect our families, enlighten our pastors, inflame our hearts with the Holy Spirit. And when the hour of our meeting with the Lord comes, accompany us to the crown of glory that God reserves for those who love him.
