Lord Jesus,
Son of the living God, Saviour of the world,
King of mercy and Prince of peace,
I come today to kneel before you,
full of faith, hope and love.
You are the light that dispels darkness,
the truth that enlightens hearts,
the life that triumphs over death.
You are the good shepherd who never loses a sheep,
the physician of souls,
the faithful brother who never gives up.
O Jesus, I open my whole being to you:
my thoughts, my desires, my wounds, my fears, my struggles.
Protect me from the lurking evil,
from the arrows of the enemy,
from the snares of sin, anger, pride and discouragement.
Enclose me with your light,
hide me in the sacred wounds of your pierced heart,
and flood me with your Holy Spirit.
Lord Jesus,
I lay my day, my family, my relationships, my future in your hands.
Come cleanse all that keeps me from you.
Come heal what is wounded in me.
Come break the chains that hold me in fear, doubt or the habit of evil.
Be the shield of my soul,
the wall around my house,
the sentinel of my thoughts.
Deliver me from every evil influence,
from every jealousy, every backbiting, every spiritual oppression.
May your Name, Jesus, be an invincible bulwark against the attacks of the enemy.
By your precious Blood shed on the Cross,
clothe me with your holiness,
and protect my body, mind and heart.
Let nothing enter me without passing through your loving will.
Lord Jesus,
I entrust to you the days of anguish and the nights of sleeplessness,
the inner struggles, the uncertainties, the sorrows.
You alone can calm the storm.
Speak to my heart as you spoke to the winds, "Peace, be still. "
Make me strong in trial,
joyful in trust,
patient in expectation,
and faithful in prayer.
Teach me to watch and pray,
to walk in the light and not in darkness.
Protect also those I love,
those you have entrusted to me,
those I carry in the silence of my heart.
Extend your hand over them as you extended your hand over the sick,
as you lifted Jairus' daughter,
as you saved Peter from drowning.
Lord Jesus,
I love you and want to belong to you, now and for eternity.
Come and reign in me,
be my Saviour, my Master, my Friend,
my Deliverer and my peace.
And when the hour of the great passage comes,
come and fetch me yourself.
Let my eyes behold thee,
let my arms open to thee,
and let my soul rest forever in thy mercy.
