O glorious apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ,

St Peter, the rock on which the Church was founded,

and St Paul, the ardent missionary to the nations,

we invoke you with fervour and trust.

Saint Peter, you who were chosen by Christ

to guide his flock and strengthen the faith of your brothers,

intercede for us so that our faith may never fail,

even in trial, even in doubt.

Learn us to love the Church, despite its weaknesses,

and to serve our brothers with humility,

like you who, despite your denial, were raised up by mercy.

Saint Paul, you who heard the call of the Risen One

on the road to Damascus and changed your life,

give us the courage of sincere conversion,

the strength to bear witness to the Gospel without fear,

and the impetus to proclaim Christ's love to those who ignore it.

You who carried the Word to the ends of the world,

enlighten our path when we no longer know where to go.

You two, pillars of faith, martyrs of divine love,

you shed your blood for the Name of Jesus.

Make missionary zeal grow in us,

the desire for unity, fidelity to the end.

In this wounded and troubled world,

be our guides, our protectors, our models.

Saint Peter, give us the love of truth.

Saint Paul, give us the joy of charity.

Both of you, give us peace of heart

and the fire of hope.

Through your prayers, may we walk each day

in the light of Christ,

united in one faith,

and confident in the Father's love,

looking forward to eternal glory.
